Product overview (general information)
Staphylococcal bacteriophage is a chromatographically purified phage lysate specifically active against Staphylococcus aureus bacterial strains. The cream (unguentum) format provides convenient topical application for skin infections, wounds, and other staphylococcal conditions, distributed without prescription.
Important notes:
- Necessary condition for use: preliminary determination of phage-susceptibility of bacteria (causative agent of infectious disease)
- The preparation is used only in case of bacterial sensitivity to the phage
- Travel-friendly, but refrigerate upon arrival
- Store a few hours in refrigerator before using
- As these products are very new, packaging may have some printing issues - please follow our instructions
- Delivery time: Usually takes two weeks, as products are freshly made per order

Composition & pharmacological action
Active phage components
Chromatographically purified phage lysate active against:
- Staphylococcus aureus
Pharmacological action
Causes specific lysis of Staphylococcus aureus bacterial strains, providing targeted antibacterial action without affecting beneficial bacteria.

Application methods & dosage
The preparation can be used by different routes, including:
- Topical application (cream/unguentum)
- Orally
- For wound treatment by drainage and application
- Rectally
- By introduction directly in ear, throat, nose, urinary tract cavities
General treatment guidelines:
- Staphylococcal bacteriophage is used locally only after appropriate treatment of source of infection
- Duration of phage treatment: 10-20 days
- In case of relapse, the course of treatment may be repeated
Specific application protocols
Respiratory & ENT infections:
- Use 2-3 times a day
- 2-10 ml of preparation by rinsing, gargling, dropping, and plugging
- Duration of plugging: 1 hour
Furunculosis and carbunculosis:
- Introduce directly in source of infection, subcutaneously, or infiltrate and around it
- Inject every day or every other day based on severity
- Increasing doses: first injection 0.5ml, following injections 1-1.5ml-2ml
- Duration: 3-5 injections
- For infectious abscess: inject in abscess cavity after evacuation of pus
- For open abscess: use tampon with phage in cavity
Enteric, pleural, joint cavities:
- 100 ml of phage preparation
- Leave capillary drainage for repeated introduction every other day
- Total: 3-4 times
Lung abscess:
- Use by trans-thoracal puncture and by catheter in tracheobronchial system
- For emphysema: by puncture and drainage
- Dose: 10-20ml by catheter; 10-50ml for emphysema
Intestinal problems in newborns:
- Initial phase: dilute phage twice with cooled boiled water for first two applications
- If no side reaction: continue with non-diluted phage
- For sepsis and enterocolitis: apply in rectum (by catheter) 2-3 times in 24 hours
- Can be used orally and by enema
Infected wounds and pyoderma in newborns:
- Apply twice a day
- Soak sterile bandage in phage and apply on infected/damaged area of skin
